You may notice that in South Korea the temperatures are measured in degrees Celsius (°C). If you are from the US, you may be more familiar with degrees Fahrenheit (°F). In case you want to convert between these units, you can use the online tools I used to write this post. They are very easy and convenient to use:

🧡 June - Start of summer. Schools have a 2 month break from July to August so fewer people in June.

🧡 September - Still warm enough for many events. Tree leaves start changing. Autumn nighttime tours at Gyeongbokgung Palace begin.

  • 🤔 But Chuseok, Korea's Thanksgiving day, usually lands around mid-September. It's on the lunar calendar and one of Korea's biggest holidays. Lots of people go home for the holidays, so travel can be crazy. Many restaurants and bars close, too. Apart from that, September is a great time to travel around Korea. Make sure you check the Chuseok dates before you go.

🧡 October - There are clear blue skies and mountains covered in foliage. It's the last month for nighttime tours at Gyeongbokgung Palace.

Wrap-up

The best time to visit Seoul is spring (April-June) and autumn (September-October) when the weather is nice for outdoor activities and there aren't too many tourists. These times are great for visiting Korean landmarks and mountains. You can also catch cultural events. There usually aren't as many people as in the summer when students are on break, so popular attractions won't be as busy.
