Everland South Korea Theme Park: from Zoo to Roller Coaster
From the wooden rollercoaster T-Express to the zoo, Everland is South Korea's largest theme park. But it's located outside of Seoul, and ticket prices can be a bit tricky as they vary depending on the date. Check out the location and opening hours before your visit. By using Smart Queue and the Q-Pass, you can make the most of your time by skipping long lines.
What is the biggest amusement park in Korea?
There are two major theme parks in Korea: Everland and Lotte World. With a total acreage of 1,488,000 m2 and 128,246 m2, Everland is the largest amusement park in the country.
Everland offers quite a lot more than just rides. There's a water park called Caribbean Bay (you need a separate ticket for that), Panda World, a tram that takes you through a safari to see carnivorous animals (Safari World), and a tram ride to see herbivorous animals (Lost Valley).
T-Express Roller Coaster
The T-Express at Everland is the longest rollercoaster in South Korea, with a total length of 1,401m. It also ranks as the 20th longest rollercoaster globally. It reaches a top speed of 104 km/h, with a steep 77-degree drop from a height of 56m.
The minimum and maximum height requirements for riders are 130cm to 195cm.
Everland Resort
Everland (에버랜드) is one of the best theme parks in Korea for all ages to enjoy. It has the scariest roller coaster and the largest zoo in South Korea.
The T-Express at Everland is not only the tallest and longest rollercoaster in Korea, but it's also made of wood, which makes it more scary. Another frightening thing is that the safety bars only hold your legs, so your hands and chest are free. It really felt like I could fall out, it was truly horrible.
- Safari World: On the tram ride, you can see some cool carnivores like bears, lions, tigers, and hyenas. A tip - choose the right side of the tram for better views.
- Lost Valley: This tram tour lets you see herbivorous animals like giraffes, rhinos, goats, camels, and elephants. The windows don't have glass, so you can get a closer look. Giraffes might even put their faces in the windows.
There are nice gardens everywhere with lots of pretty flowers. It looks nice and is a good place to take pictures.
- Zootopia: The zoo area at Everland where you can see many different types of animals like penguins, seals, tigers, capybaras, and others.
- Panda World: Fubao is hugely popular nationwide for his cute appearance and friendly bond with his caretakers. Twin pandas Luibao and Huibao were born and everyone loves them. Everland's Instagram and YouTube have lots of pictures and videos of these pandas. While pandas around the world must return to China once reaching adulthood, we want to give the pandas lots of love until that time comes.
What Summer Events Can You Find at Everland?
- Summer Water Fun: Summer Water Fun: This event happens twice a day from late June to late August at 1:30pm and 4:30pm in the Carnival plaza. You can dance to songs and get wet to cool off from the heat. It's better to come prepared with an umbrella, water gun, towel, dry change of clothes, and waterproof shoes so you can fully enjoy getting splashed without worrying.
What Winter Activities Can You Find at Everland?
Even though visiting an amusement park in the winter can be difficult, Everland has some winter-only activities.
- Caribbean Bay: A separate ticket is required for this water park. During the winter months (from December to February), it uses heated water. Open from 10 am to 5 pm, closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
- Snow Buster: It operates from mid-December to late February. The family course is for those 100cm and taller. The racing course is for 120cm and taller and goes faster. The express course seats up to 4 people so you can go with family or friends. It has a 200m long lane and also requires a minimum height of 120cm.

Everland Smart Queue
Everland facilities are divided into 3 categories. Some can only be reserved via smart queue, some are only first-come first-served lines, and some offer both options at different times. Popular facilities allow entry through Smart Queue from 10 AM to 2 PM, and after 2 PM, on-site lining up is available.
After scanning your barcode at the entrance via the app, you can use smart queue reservations - these usually fill up within 10 minutes, so it's best to make reservations as soon as possible after entering. Up to 4 tickets can be registered per app for convenience.
Everland Q-Pass
Officially called the Plan-it Q-Pass, this allows you to skip lines on popular rides. Rides like T-Express and Amazon Express usually have 1+ hour waits. With the Q-Pass, you can ride right away. You have to buy a pass for each person. They sell a set number per day, so buy early. You can't purchase on the same day.
- Q-Pass 3: 1 scheduled ride, 2 anytime. 27,000 KRW (around 23 USD).
- Q-Pass 5: 2 scheduled rides, 3 anytime. 47,000 KRW (around 40 USD).
Scheduled rides are only at set times, like Safari World or T-Express. Anytime rides can be used anytime, like Amazon Express or bumper cars.
Wrap-Up
Everland Resort, Korea's biggest theme park, takes some planning since ticket prices change daily, operating hours vary by season, and it's outside of Seoul.
It has Korea's longest rollercoaster along with a zoo and tram rides to see animals up close. Children and adults alike can have fun exploring. Using Smart Queue and Q-Passes helps beat the lines so you can spend more time enjoying the rides and exhibits. I'm sure you'll make wonderful memories whether you go with friends, family, or both!
